TJ HOLSTON

FOUNDER - 1K FITNESS
NASM CPT & LACROSSE TRAINER

I have had a passion for training since I was 17 years old when I started going to La Fitness the summer before going to college to play lacrosse. Having been a smaller built guy most of my life when I saw results I was thrilled and was so happy to have gained some muscle as I approached College to play Men that were 2-3 years older than me. I proceeded to workout consistently almost every day throughout my college career and was able earn All-conference as a lacrosse player at both Midfield and Attack all 4 years of being a student Athlete. However, this success didn’t come over night for me. I was never the most gifted. I was cut in the 9th grade from the football team, a sport that I had played my entire life. It sucked and I’ll never forget the feeling. I remember it being a colder day in November and I was at my friend Ryan Killion’s house when I picked up his stick and we went outside to throw around. That same day I went home as a freshman in High School, and I asked my mom if I could get a stick and that I wanted to play lacrosse. I had about 3 months to teach myself the game and that’s exactly what I did. I studied great players and every day after school I would be shooting on my goal outside of my house. However, it still was almost not enough. I was close to being cut again but the varsity coach told the JV coach to keep me on the team and that he saw my potential. I learned so much that year and never put my stick down from that time forward. My sophomore I was the leading point scorer on my team, and by senior year I had made First Team all-county honors and earned a scholarship to play in college. I started all 4 years at the college level and worked hard every day in the weight room and on the field to be the best player I could. As a freshman, I was a first team All-Conference selection as a midfielder, and I went on the other 3 years to become an all-conference attackman. I was never the fastest the strongest or the biggest, but I always made sure I out worked my competition.
